How to get out of the forest if you get lost
What to do if there is no mobile connection
Look at the trails
If you went to some path, then it is quite possible that it will be an animal. To find out, look at the branches of the trees. If you are moving along a path, all the time you get branches on your face and chest, then it’s not people who have trodden it. Get off the trail immediately! Moreover, all the trails of animals lead into the depths.
Try to find the path that led you to this place and go back. If they did not find them, but they came out on some kind of trodden, this is a chance to reach the people.
Listen to the sounds
You will hear the roar of a working tractor four kilometers away, the barking of dogs — three kilometers, the noise of a passing train — ten kilometers. Determine exactly where the sounds are coming from and step in that direction. Just do not rush immediately, listen. In the forest, the sound vector may change, creating an echo.
Smells in the air
If you smell the smell of smoke, you can safely go against the wind and go out to its source. There must be people there.
The ability to smell, depends on weather conditions. You can hear them well on a cold day, windless weather, as well as in dense and humid forest.
Landmark on trees
The color and density of their bark can tell the direction of the world.
- A tree trunk that looks at the north side will have a darker and coarser bark than that looking at the south. This is especially clearly seen on a separate tree;
- In rainy weather, the pines acquire the dark color of the bark on the north side. This is because of the secondary crust formed from the north, it gets wet and turns black;
- In hot weather, pay attention to the resin, which stands on the trunks of trees. Where it is more, there is south.
